WXPN

I walked across campus to today and it was foggy and soupy after waking up at 600 in the morning.

Step out the front door like a ghost into the fogWhere no one notices the contrast of white on whiteAnd in between the moon and you the angels get a better viewOf the crumbling difference between wrong and rightI walk in the air between the rain through myself and back againWhere? I don’t know

The world is different, serene and tranquil on that time of day.

And I have about 30 stolen moments in a too busy life. But I’ll take it.

My friend April told me she a coach and she bolds on her schedule the work outs that are important. I told her. “A hundred bucks a month for a FONT”

I am listening to WXPN’s 950 top albums. Nick Drake just played. They were talking about how he dropped off his last album at the studio. And that was the last they heard of him.

The fine line between brilliance and ……….I don’t have a word for it.

The Bailey Crisis

I have this sneaking suspicion, that there are people in this world that are simply addicted to a Crisis.      Life can be rolling along rather smoothly and with out incident and that’s simply not going to cut it.

That is when it is time to invent a crisis and/ or a hard ship.  And this is not a new theory invented by me, I think I read it or heard it somewhere.   I honestly think there are people who are in perfectly fine relationships and they just stir the pot because they like crisis. Or maybe they are truly unhappy and the crisis of a break up or a fatal argument is just that much more attractive than staying in a “comfortable” relationship.

I just finished reading “Until I Find You” by John Irving and much of the them of this book is the cleansing that comes with forgiveness. And maybe people are inclined to be in the crisis made and I guess we should forgive them for that.

Bailey the Cat had a live mouse she was teasing. It was very much alive. Her way of inventing a crisis I guess.  Well to make a long story short, I rescued the mouse. I doubt the mouse will forgive the Cat.  As for the Cat, If I bring it up her response would be.

What mouse.
Seven o clock is way too early to wake up when you have the tendency to stay up way too late and if I were to write this at0 1130 at night I would not ever remember that I stayed up way too late last night.

7 -The morning dash to get everybody out the door, fed, happy and luckily dressed. This includes remembering lunches that were packed the previous day.

Mornings Become Eclectic – Spend the morning working on technical problems that I have not done in ages and guess what. it is as exciting as it used to be.

AfterNoons Become Meeting Filled –The mundane silly inane part of the day where meetings after meetings happen. I hate meetings to the core.

AfterNoon Racquetball –The opening of the new season and a wonderful working respite in the day.  For some reason today I feel like winning, but the competition will be nice.

5-Oct-10 (Mon) 7:30 Court 4
Greg Delaney (A) 503.449.1748

Here is the format and rules, which I will also have available in the league folder:

Everyone will play everyone else at least once. (Probably only once) There will be two matches per person each week. (Unless you have a Bye) The courts will be blocked out between 4pm and 8pm on each Thursday of the week. You can choose to play on that day, or make any other arrangements with your opponents for that week. Everyone will have at least one Bye (You won't play a match) however I have left five slots open in case we get some latecomers and each time you are scheduled to play one of these open slots, this will also be a Bye. I will not allow anyone to be added after the second week of the league, so if I do add someone before then some of you may have to play some make up matches but I will allow this to occur any time during the league. (Can be done on one of your Bye weeks) Normally all make up matches must be done within 2 weeks of the scheduled match. All matches must be completed by 02/20/2005.

All matches will consist of 3 games to 11 points each. Play all three games no matter the outcome. We will keep track of both games won and total points scored. Normal racquetball rules apply. (See "Racquetball 101" in the league folder) If there are any disputes over calls made during a game then simply play the point over. Lag for first serve, then alternate the second then most points scored serves last, if it is a tie then lag again for third serve.

Handicapping
All levels are playing in the same league. We will use a simple handicap system. Everyone has advised me what level they think they are and I have assigned the ranking of A, B or C. An A player starts with 0 (zero) points for each game, a B player 2 (Two) points and a C player 4 (four) points. If a B Player plays a C player, then the C player starts with 2 (two) points, if a C player plays an A player they start with 4 (four) points and so on. As the league progresses, so will the players so please let me know if you think that you are either in the wrong level or if you think someone else you have played or have seen play is in the wrong level so I cam make appropriate adjustments.

Since this is a new format, I am open to suggestions however, major adjustments may have to wait until the next league starts. The most important things are to have fun, play hard and play fair! If you have any questions I am always available by cel 971.221.9768 or by email.

Thanks everyone!
